I came across some golf flags I'd like to put forth for discussion:
PGA Champions Tour (again, is this flag official?) http://icaryn.com/uploaded_images/08_LML_0314_CLplow-760065.jpg
My feeling is that these flags are used on the flag pins marking the holes on
a golf course. I believe the Players flag is used on golf course hosting the PGA
Players Championship; my guess is TPC at Sawgrass, in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL,
USA. Furthermore, these flags are only used for the duration of the
tournament--the rest of the time, the golf course's own flags are used. The same
goes for the PGA Champions Tour flag. It is used on the stick marking the hole,
but only for the duration of the tournament. These two are basically logos on a
flag.
This past weekend saw the RBC Canadian Open, in Oakville, Ontario.
The flags used on the flag pins are as attached: yellow, with the RBC Canadian
Open logo in the upper half, with the PGA logo in the lower fly. These flags
were used for the 'official' duration of the tournament, from Thursday to this
Sunday.

However, due to the weather, the tournament went on until today, and for some
reason, which I can't surmise with any authority, the flag pin flags today were
Canadian flags.

The Champions Tour, a golf tour run by the PGA Tour, hosts a series of events
annually in the United States and the United Kingdom for golfers 50 years of age
and older. Many of the PGA Tour's most successful golfers have gone on to play
on the Champions Tour. The Senior PGA Championship, founded in 1937, was for
many years the only high-profile tournament for golfers over 50. The idea for a
senior tour grew out of a highly successful event in 1978, the Legends of Golf,
which featured competition between two-member teams of some of the greatest
older golfers of that day. The tour was formally established in 1980 and was
known as the Senior PGA TOUR until October 2002. The original logo was based on
the PGA Tour logo, with the golfer's profile modified to depict the wearing of a
flat cap and plus fours.

The Players Championship
(often styled as THE PLAYERS Championship) is an annual golf tournament on the
PGA Tour. Originally known as the Tournament Players Championship, the inaugural
event in 1974 was played at Atlanta Country Club in Marietta, Georgia before
moving to the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas in 1975 and Inverary
Country Club in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 1976. Beginning in 1977, the event
relocated to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, first being played at Sawgrass Country
Club's Oceanside Course (a combination of the "East" and "West" 9-hole courses).
Since 1982 it has been played across the road from Sawgrass Country Club, on the
Stadium Course at the "Tournament Players Club at Sawgrass" (usually referred to
as the TPC at Sawgrass). It is not uncommon for "TPC" in this context to be
conflated with "The Players Championship" because they happen to have the same
initials - in fact, this confusion was the reason why the tournament's original
name was shortened to just "Players Championship" prior to the 1988 event,
although some confusion between the two still persists occasionally.
