Gay flag in South Africa

This website shows the new GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered) flag for Gay South Africans. According to the website, the South African GLBT flag serves dual purposes:

- to celebrate and maintain the liberties and the right to marry under the South African constitution; and
- to address immediate and pertinent issues facing the South African GLBT community such as workplace discrimination, “corrective rape” and the myth of the “un-Africanness” of homosexuality.

The design has the Gay Pride (rainbow) flag as a background with white and black outline of the South African national flag superimposed.
