Introduction

Swisttal was estblished on 1 August 1969, when the municipalities of Buschhoven, Essig, Heimerzheim, Ludendorf, Miel, Morenhoven, Odendorf, Ollheim and Straßfeld merged.

Description of banner:
It ia a white - yellow - white vertical triband with ratio 1:4:1. The coat of arms is shifted to the top.

Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per pale. The dexter side is a silver(=white) field divided by a black cross. The sinister side is a golden(=yellow) field divided by two bars chequered into red and white.
Meaning:
According to source the cross is symbolizing the archbishopric and electorate of Köln. The chequered bars, looking like the bar of Mark county twice, are taken from the arms of the local kin of Tomberg.
