António Martins-Tuválkin, Lisbon - Portugal

His Personal Flag

António was a consistent and prolific contributor to FOTW and although sometimes accused of lacking tact, he had passion and enthusiasm for his subject. He was an unrelenting force of nature, and his desire to make FOTW, and the scholarship behind it, the best that it could be, is unquestioned. António was a person who truly saw issues in either black or white, and had little patience with shades of grey.
In his citation for VOTY 2005, António is described as a "...former list master, tireless critic, and precise editor, [who] has done more than any other to promote the quality of the FOTW website."
