Meet the Editors and Artists

Flags of the World very existence is made possible thanks to the work of a dedicated group of volunteer editors and vexillologist who give freely of their own time and energy to make it possible. Thanks to their efforts you can read more than 56,000 pages about flags and view more than 110,000 images of flags of countries, organizations, states, territories, districts and cities, both past and present. Because they hail from all parts of the world, they seldom meet in person and it was that thought that prompted these "Meet the Editors and Staff Member" pages. It should be noted that these are the current editors and illustrators, and they stand on the shoulders of other editors and artist who proceeded them.

The Editors Flag

FOTW editor's flag Designed by Mark Sensen, 27 July 1997

This proposal is based on the FOTW flag. For the editors, similar to the Vice or Assistant Director's flag, but the "inner border" counter-changed blue and white.
Mark Sensen, 27 July 1997

The Graphic Artists Flag

FOTW editor's flag Designed by Clay Moss, 6 September 2014

This site could not be possible without the dedicated work of our "giffers" - the artists who render images of flags in .gif format (presently 110,000 images) for display on our pages. You will see the names of these artists attached to all the images on the site .

I present a FOTW Giffers Flag on behalf of all of our giffing community. This multi-colored flag is appropriate for the giffers, since it is they who actually use the color spectrum to create our images. The square is quartered and the colors are placed in English alphabetical order, counter-clockwise, black, green, red, yellow.
Clay Moss, 6 September 2014
