Presentation of Benegiles

The municipality of Benegiles (393 inhabitants in 2009; 2,333 ha) is located in the center of Zamora Province, 20 km from Zamora.

Symbols of Benegiles

The flag and arms of Benegiles, designed by Vicente Tocino Letrado and Tomás Rodríguez Peñas, are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 26 September 2005 by the Municipal Council, signed on 16 January 2006 by the Mayor, and published on 6 February 2006 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 25, p. 1,933 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular flag, with proportions 2:3, made of three equal horizontal stripes, the outer stripes red with five yellow wheat spikes and the central stripe blue with a white fimbriation.
Coat of arms: Argent a bend azure charged with three wheat spikes or in chief a church gules masoned sable port and windows argent in base a two-arched Roman bridge gules masoned sable. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
