The municipality of Camarzana de Tera (977 inhabitants in 2010; 4,462 ha) is located in the north of the Province of Zamora, 75 km from Zamora. The municipality is made of the villages of Cabañas de Tera (97 inh.), Camarzana de Tera (492 inh.; capital), San Juanico el Nuevo (123 inh.) and Santa Marta de Tera (265 inh.).

The flag and arms of Camarzana de Terra are prescribed by a Decree
adopted on 14 April 1999 by the Zamora Provincial Government, signed
on 17 May 1999 by the President of the Government, and published on 27
May 1999 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 100, p. 5,675 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:
Flag: Quadrangular, with proportions 1:1, made of horizontal stripes with proportions 7:8 and 1:8, the upper stripe white with a red cross throughout and the lower stripe blue.
Coat of arms: Argent a Latin cross gules cantonned of four scallops gules over waves azure and argent. The shield surmounted with a Royal crown closed.
The Royal Academy of History rejected an earlier proposal of coat of
arms, as "absolutely objectionable". The charges, their arrangement,
and the colours are totally non-compliant with the uses of heraldry.
It is recalled once more that a picturesque design framed in a shield
does not constitute a coat of arms.
