The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.

Serbs in Krnjak

The amendment to the Municipality Statutes Odluka o izmjenama i dopunama Statuta Općine Krnjak, adopted on 15 March 2005 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 21 March 2005 in the County official gzette Glasnik Karlovačke županije, No. 8, grants to the members of the Serb ethnic group, making up more than 60% of the population of the Municipality, the right to use their national flag and symbols, in accordance with the Constitutional Law of Croatia, as determined by the Coordination of the Councils for National Minorities and with the approval of the Council for National Minorities.

In May 2013, a group of football fans removed the Serbian flag from the Town Hall (photo). Namely, at the time, instead of the Serbian minority flag (the simple tricolour), the State flag of Serbia was displayed (photo, photo), which was considered illegal by these fans. The newspapers reports and politician's comments are confuzing, claiming that this flag was displayed there since 2004 (although photos taken in 2008 and 2010 clearly show the simple tricolour flag). However, the incident seems to have settled down soon, even though it is not clear which flag is displayed now (and, apparently, most politicians do not seem to care much about it).
