The Flag

Ratio: 1:2. Adopted: after 1990. Always hoisted vertically. Fringe: golden at bottom . County was made by joining the former counties of Csongrád, Csanád and Torontál. The small arms in the middle are the former (Austrohungarian) arms of County of Csongrád (granted 1731); and quartered are Csanád (1, granted 1701) and Torontál (4, granted 1779). In other two quarters are the arms of families Csanád (3) and Bor-Kalán (2).

Concerning the Hungarian county of Csongrad I located the law concerning the Coat of Arms and the flag of the Hungarian county of Csongrad (It was adopted in 1991) . There is no picture of the flag . However using my modest knowledge of Hungarian I can suppose that the flag is like this: I think that it says here that the main colour of the flag is esmerald green with the coat of arms in the middle. The flag has as proportions 2:1, when manufactured it is 3 x 1,5m and the coat of arms is inscribed in an imaginary square of 80 cm wide. I don't know what the 15 cm means (Maybe a fringe ?). The text speaks also about "lobogo" . The fine for burning the flag is 10.000 Ft.
Pascal Vagnat, 29 December 1998

The crest is embroidered with natural colours , with the county name beneath. On the edges of the flag is gold piping, followed by fringes. The fringe size is 15 cm. The 80 cm. measurement is that of the width of the crest .A lobogo is a flag that can be hung vertically.
Georges Kovari III, 29 December 1998

According to Zsaslovilag Vol.2 Issue 1 the flag of the Czongrad county is a green vertical flag with the full Coat of Arms in the upper third and with the yellow inscription CSONGRAD MEGYE in two semicircles under the Coat of Arms.
Falko Schmidt, 17 Febuary 2001

As a former editor of Zászlóvilág/Flagworld periodical, I've some notes concerning flag of Csongrád country. The original article based on publication sent by county officials in 1995. According the county regulation of 7/1991 dated on 15 June, 1991 (in which adopted their flag, arms, and seal of the county) "the flag is emerald green charged with coat of arms embroidered in its natural colours. Inscription of county is under the Coat of Arms embroidered in gold (in one arc). Proportion is 2:1, original size is 300x150 cm. height of arms 80 cm. The flag has fringes bottom, sized 15 cm long". That's all.
There is only a black-and-white outlined image in publication sent to me, which show the flag. It was copied into Zászlóvilág/Flagworld. Coat of Arms is bigger than its drawn by Arnaoud Leroy, and its horizontal axis placed at one-third of the flag. Symbols of county was designed by Mihály Fritz (Mr), and flag was embroidered by Józsefné Gémes (Mrs).

It seems the Coat of Arms of Földeák is a miror of the Coat of Arms of Óföldeák (Old Földeák).
