The city emblem was adopted on Apr 1st 1940 but There is no flag law. The white flag has a red city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized kanji 日立 Hitachi in form of a circle and a flower. The circle symbolizes a peaceful development and the center flower does a gaiety. As a whole, it represents a brilliance and a vigor.

Juo Town / 十王町

The flag of the former town of Juo was white with mark. The town is now, from 2004, part of the city of Hitachi.
