The city emblem and the flag were adopted on Dec 26th 1977 by Ordinance No 35. The blue flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized hiragana か Ka of Kamisu in a form of  a flying bird. The upper right part symbolizes cap of a wave. It strongly represents a reconcillation and a solidarity of the citizen, a bright future as an industrial area, an exponential development of the industrial culture. The flag proportion is 11: 16.
