The Flag

The flag of the City of Moriya is green with mark. I also found white flag with "new" mark. What is it?

The city emblem was adopted on Feb 2nd 2002 but there is no flag law. The green flag has a white city emblem in the center and the kanji name with the prefecture Ibaraki name in white at the bottom part. The city emblem is a stylized kanji 守 Mori of Moriya. The circle and the bar symbolize a peaceful solidarity of the citizen and the arrow in the lower part does an exponential development into a soaring ideal.

What is a new mark?
This is Moriya City Symbol-mark adopted on Feb 2nd 2002. The symbol mark is a stylized M of Moriya in a form of a bird flying into the future. The circle symbolizes a vigorous sun. The symbol mark is not used for the city flag.
