The city emblem was adopted on Sep 2nd 2005 by Notice No 1 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a green, blue and a red three color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized N of Namegawa in a form of a sail boat. Three sails stand for Aso Town, Kitaura Town and Tamatsukuri Town, the red color for the sun, the blue color for Lake Kasumigaura, Lake Kitaura, the green color for rich nature.
