The town emblem was adopted on Nov 11th 1960 but there is no flag law. The orange flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized hiragana の No and kanji 菰 Komo. The edge of letter の makes a form of Gozaishodake Peak which symbolizes a high surge of the town and the kanji 菰 stands for the fullfilling of the public asdministration.
