Description of the flag

White stylized Hiragana character of Mi (み) of Mie on green field. Green colour stands green mountain. The emblem also symbolizes a popular product of Mie, pearl. Adopted 16 September 1968.

The prefecture embelm was adopted on Apr 20th 1964 by official gazette but there is no flag law. The color of the flag field is blueish green. The green stands for mountains and the blue for the sea.

Adopted on January 5th 1979 by Mie Police Headquarters Order No 1. The dark violet flag has gold fringe charged with a gold sun and rays and its name in gold bottom. The flag proportions are 15:23.
