The town emblem was adopted on Aug 26th 1960 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a blue town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized kanji 日 and 月 which is a result of breaking up kanji 明 Mei of Meiwa. The kanji 日 stands for a dignity and the kanji 月 for love. As a whole it represents town’s improvement like round and high luminary.
