The city emblem was adopted on Jan 1st 1990 and the flag was adopted on Oct 1st 1976 by Notice No 30. The blue flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized katakana カ Ka of Kashihara. The upper wings of a black kite symbolize a surge and the lower circle does a concord, a peace and an ancient cultural city. The flag proportion is 2:3.
