Description of the flag

Wine red colour stylized Katakana character of Na (ナ) of Nara on white field. The red disc represents nature of Nara, white smaller disc spirit of harmony and red rectangle in the center persistent progress. Adopted 01 March 1968.

The prefecture emblem and the flag were adopted on Mar 1st 1968 by Notice No 536. The flag proportion is 2: 3. The diameter of the circle is 55/100 height of the flag. The center of the circle is placed 2.5/100 towards hoist.
