The town emblem and the flag were adopted on Jul 1st 1971 by Notice No 7. The purple flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized kanji 河 Ka of Kawai. The circle in the center symbolizes a vivid town. It represents a peace and a development of the town. The flag proportion is 2:3.
