The flag has proportions 2:3, with the emblem in the centre with height 3/5
of the hoist. The blue is that colour specified for the emblem: DIC F41 (CMY
100-50-0).
The flag and emblem were adopted on 22 March 2005. The emblem is made up of
three shapes forming a circle enclosing a regular hexagon with six rays (three
of which extend to the edge of the circle). The three parts stand for the former
Marugame City, Ayauta Town and Hanzan Town which form the modern Marugame City.
