The city emblem was adopted on Apr 1st 2003 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a green, a blue and a red three color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a combination of a stylized m of Munakata City with g of Genkai Town. The three colors stand for the nature, the culture and the history. It represents the city’s abundant natural circumstances and the citizen’s feeling of uplifting.
