Description of the flag

White plum flower emblem on light blue field. Plum is a prefecture flower and the emblem stands for harmony and progress of people. Adopted 10 May 1908.

The prefecture emblem was adopted on May 10th 1966 by Notice No 342 but there is no flag law. The prefecture blue flag has a white emblem in the center. The emblem is stylized hiragana ふく Fuku of Fukuoka in a prefecture flower plum.

Traffic Safety Flag

Another prefectural flag is the flag of Traffic Safety. The only information I can pull from the text is that it was adopted in Showa 37 (1962). The flag is a mixture of 7 green and white bars, with a yellow cross in the middle. It can be seen on the Prefectural website.
