The city emblem and the flag were adopted on Mar 27th 2006 by Notice No 1 and No 2. The white flag has a green, a blue and a light blue three color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized katakana ア A of Amakusa in a form of an island and waves. The waves symbolize the vigorous citizen and the city’s development. Three colors represent Japan’s treasure island with rich nature Amakusa City.
The flag proportion is 2: 3. The height of the emblem is 65/100 height of the flag.
