The balzon is: "På rød bunn tre sølv spydodder skrått oppad." In English: Gules three spearheads argent bendwise (upwards; although I guess that last may be not necessary).
It was approved by the royal resolution of 30 June 1978 after a drawing by Truls Nygaard.
The spearheads is canting "spyd" being a spear. Three of them represent the three subdivisions (chaplaincies - kirkesogns) in the parish (prestegjeld).
The spearheads are formed in the design in manner similar to what they would appear in medieval seals.
