Blazon: I rødt tre gull nøkler stilt i trepass. In English: Gules three keys or in pall.
Approved by the royal resolution of 10 January 1992 after a drawing by Harald Hallstensen, a graphical designer in consultation with the municipal administration.
Key was used in Sor-Odal as local symbol even prior to 1992 - by the local history society and by the school. Three keys represent three parishes, but also three important waterways. The flag is prescribed by the local regulation of 7 May 1991 to be in the ratio "08:1." (probably 0.8:1 i.e. 4:5) cf. http://www.sor-odal.kommune.no/tjenester/fakta-om-sor-odal-kommune/kommunevaapenet
