Blazon: I grønt to skråstilte sølv tømmersager. In English: Vert two wood
saws palewise.
Approved by the royal resolution of 12 February 1988 after a drawing by Even
Jarl Skoglund. [c2j88]
According to
http://www.ngw.nl/heraldrywiki/index.php?title=Stor-Elvdal:
"The arms show two saws as a symbol of the importance of forestry in the
municipality."
Željko Heimer, 05 December 2015
Not quite. "skrå" is something like "at an angle". So I guess the saws are
per bend.
Peter Hans van den Muijzenberg, 06 December 2015
You are quite right - I was writing too quick - the word I wanted to write
there was "bendwise" (the saws are "in pale", one above the other, but since
that is default of two charges it is not mentioned explicitly)
