Blazon: På blå grunn tre sølv ambolter, 1-1-1. In English: Azure three anvils argent in pale.
Approved by the government resolution of 4. juli 1991 after a drawing by Trond Andersson. The anvils symbolise the ironwork i.e. smith for which the region was famous. Prior to the adoption of the current arms, a different one was used, as shown at http://ngw.nl/heraldrywiki/index.php?title=Hol  That one is also shown in [c2j87] giving Arnstein Arneberg as the designer in 1957, afterwards redrawn by Anders R. Andersen. It depicted a white upraised horse in blue shield with three wavy diagonal lines and a "starry" formation, and with a black chief.
