Blazon: I blått en innbøyd sølv sparre. In English: Azure a chevron embowed argent.
Approved by the crownprince-regent's resolution of 15 June 1990.
The municipal web site explains it to stand for "mountain top and wave crest". The blue symbolizes the sky and the sea, the silver the snowcovered mountain tops, especially that of the Sølvfjell mountain as well as the silver crests of sea waves.
