Blazon: Venstre skrådelt av sølv og svart ved dobbelt lynsnitt. In English: Per bend sinistre double bevilled argent and sable.
Approved by the royal resolution of 2 October 1987 after a drawing by Rolf Tidemann. [c2j88]
The municipal web site explains from the original decisions:
"The design shows an excerpt of an imaginary abstract silhouette of the three "sectors". Such a design could moreover present the "mountain peaks" that one in many places will notice in the municipality. The colors should reflect the municipality's contrasts in economy and in statements like "Dark Ages", "black sea", "towards brighter times", snowdrift, black graphite etc. "Bevilled" line can also provide weather-related associations. The incision should also be able to designate booms and recessions, but also an optimistic growth and thus continues to up right corner without stepped falls."
The municipal prescriptions provides for a square flag with nearly 45 degrees lines. However, instead a table flag of white with the coat of arms and the municipal name is shown.
