Coat of arms

Shield Or, a sinister bendy sword Sable hilted Gules by a cross fleury, in central chief a dove Argent nimbed Gules, in sinister base a grapevine Purpure leaved Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "EREIRA - CARTAXO".
Meaning:
The nimbed dove is symbolizing the Holy Spirit, the local patron saint.

Ereira Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of the Cartaxo municipality (q.v.); it had 636 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 6.3 km².

The arms are Or a bunch of grapes Purpure leaved Vert, in base a demi cogwheel Azure issuant. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "LAPA - CARTAXO".
Meaning:
"_Lapa_" means "cave", and indeed that’s the origin of this place's name, but that does not show on the arms.
