About the Flag

It is a slightly untypical Portuguese communal flag. The arms are centred on a field quartered of purple and yellow (town rank).

The arms are Or, in base a hill vert crowned by a chapel Proper with stairs Argent, and superimposed by barrulets wavy Argent-Azure-Argent in base. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll in black upper case letters reading "MEDELIM"
