Shield Argent over a base wavy of Azure and Argent, two olive trees eradicated Vert, in central chief a royal coronet Gules. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading "SANTA MARIA DOS OLIVAIS - LISBOA" in black upper case letters.
Meaning:
The olive trees are canting elements. The coronet is referring to the old arms, on which three royals had been depicted: Dom Dinis, his son Dom Afonso and his wife Queen St. Isabel.

Santa Maria dos Olivais was one of the 53 pre-2012 communes of Lisboa Municipality. It had 33 788 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 8,09 km². Located in the northeast of Lisboa it had been the largest commune ordered by surface before the 2012-reorganization. A grand part was, and is, covered by Lisboa Airport. In 2012 it had to cede about one quarter of its territory to the newly created Parque das Nações Commune and was renamed to Olivais.
