Word " ensyn " (="ensign")

Word:
ensyn
Script:
Latin
Etym. family:
*sign
Meaning:

Remarks:
rare

An "ensyn" is more or less an "ensign", though the word is rarely used. The difference would be the lack of central authority, which forced towns to fly an own ensyn abroad, for lack of a national ensign.
