Yacht-Club Gode Wind (Kiel)

[Yacht-Club Gode Wind (German YC)]
Klaus-Michael Schneider, 21 Feb 2009 based upon a photo sent by Chris and Ellie McIntire, 10 Sep 2006

We were wondering if you might know anything about this pennant.
Chris and Ellie McIntire, 10 Sep 2006

The white pennant with two black crosses is very reminiscent of, but not identical to, a signal flag used by the Royal Navy c1928. I suspect it is possibly a yacht club burgee.
Lesley Prince, 9 Feb 2008

This white pennant, fimbriated black having two black crosses ordered vertically at the hoist side. It is the pennant of Yacht-Club Gode Wind, located in Kiel.
A small image you can find at this webpage. The club is situated in Kiel-Schilksee. It was founded 1897 in Gdansk as"Danzig-Zoppoter Yacht-Club Gode Wind (DZYC)"; its burgee shows the crosses of the Gdansk arms.
