The Flag

Gold stylized 4 Katakana character of Ma  (マ) of Shimane (Shi means 4) in round shape on wine red colour field. Adopted 8 November 1968.

The prefecture flag was adopted on Nov 8th 1968 by Notice No 955. The circles symbolize the people’s solidarity and harmonized development and surge of the prefecture. The flag proportion is 2: 3.
