Phil Nelson, 23 October 2002

Peter M. Sand, 26 January 2007

Michael Smuda, 25 October 2002

In a description of the flag of Dubuque County in the "Telegraph Herald", 6 January 2009, it is noted:
"[...]
The Dubuque County flag actually was created in 1976, along with many other county flags, to celebrate the bicentennial of the United States of America." - www.thonline.com/article.cfm?id=228647
Ivan Sache, 7 January 2009
